Doliprane 150 mg sachets contain paracetamol in powder form.
This medicine, designed for children from 8 to 30 kg (approximately 6 months to 11 years) , is sold without a prescription.

Doliprane 150 mg belongs to the family of  analgesic and antipyretic medicines . It is therefore used in cases of pain and/or fever such as aches, headaches, flu or dental pain.
 

How to take Doliprane 150 mg in sachet?

• For children weighing 8 to 12 kg (approximately 6 to 24 months): 1 sachet per dose, to be repeated every 6 hours if necessary, without exceeding 4 sachets per day.
• For children weighing 13 to 15 kg (approximately 2 to 5 years): 1 sachet per dose, to be repeated every 4 hours if necessary, without exceeding 6 sachets per day.
• For children weighing 16 to 24 kg: (approximately 4 to 9 years old) 2 sachets per dose, to be repeated every 6 hours if necessary, without exceeding 8 sachets per day.
• For children weighing 25 to 30 kg (approximately 8 to 11 years): 2 sachets per dose, to be repeated every 4 hours if necessary, without exceeding 12 sachets per day.

As a reminder, the daily dosage of paracetamol is 60 mg/kg/day. The sachets will be diluted in a glass of water or fruit juice, after stirring, it must be drunk immediately. This intake of Doliprane 150 mg will not go beyond 3 days in case of fever and 5 days in case of pain.

Parents of children with renal failure will have to wait 8 hours to renew the intake of Doliprane 150 mg.
 

Precautions for use of Doliprane infant 150 mg

A doctor’s advice will be necessary before administering Doliprane 150 mg if your child is dehydrated, suffers from chronic malnutrition, has a serious liver or kidney disease, has the AIDS virus, cystic fibrosis or Gilbert’s syndrome, if he/she is allergic to paracetamol, aspirin and/or NSAIDs, to one of the excipients (Sodium benzoate, povidone K30, ocetyl manoglycerides, titanium dioxide, saccharin, orange flavor (water, maltodextrin, gum arabic, orange essential oil), sucrose).

Children on anticoagulants will need increased monitoring of their INR as soon as treatment with Doliprane 150 mg in sachets exceeds 4 days.

This medicine contains sucrose, so it is contraindicated if the child suffers from an intolerance to fructose, glucose and galactose or from a malabsorption syndrome of these sugars.

Taking paracetamol, therefore Doliprane in sachet form, can disrupt the results of the blood sugar level (monitoring of blood sugar in diabetics) and uric acid (uricemia).

In case of vomiting, the sachet form of Doliprane 150 is not suitable. Instead, turn to Doliprane baby 150 mg suppositories .
 

Doliprane for babies 150 mg and liver toxicity

Doliprane 150 mg sachets will not be administered at the same time as another medicine containing paracetamol, nor with medicines that may be toxic to the liver. This liver toxicity is increased by the simultaneous intake of certain anti-epileptics, rifampicin, flucloxacillin. The toxicity

of paracetamol can cause very serious damage to the liver, the brain, which can lead to a coma or even the death of the patient. This is why care must be taken not to exceed the recommended doses.

The first signs of overdose are: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, paleness. If these symptoms appear within 24 hours of taking paracetamol , you must consult a doctor quickly.
