Doliprane 300 mg suppository is a medicine intended for children whose weight is between 15 and 24 kg , or approximately 4 to 9 years old .
This medicine contains paracetamol and its action is antipyretic and analgesic. It is used to reduce fever, in flu-like conditions, and to calm pain such as headaches, dental pain or in case of aches and pains.

Each suppository is composed of 300 mg of paracetamol. They also contain, as an excipient, solid semi-synthetic glycerides.
 

Dosage of Doliprane 300 mg suppository for children

Before administering a  Doliprane 300 mg suppository , you must know your child’s weight. Indeed, the dosage of paracetamol depends on weight. It is approximately 15 mg per kg per dose, to be repeated after 6 hours if necessary. That is a daily dosage of 60 mg per kg per day.

Doliprane 300 mg suppository is administered to children weighing between 15 and 24 kg at a rate of 1 suppository, to be repeated if necessary after 6 hours (in case of renal insufficiency, doses should be spaced 8 hours apart). Do not exceed 4 suppositories per day. Place the suppository, flat end forward. In case of diarrhea, this medication is not suitable. You can administer an oral form such as Doliprane Liquiz 300 in ready-to-drink stick .

The administration of suppositories should be as short as possible, due to the risk of irritation at the rectal level, and will be replaced by oral treatment, as soon as possible.
If your child’s fever is higher than 38.5, consider uncovering your child and making him drink, and also make sure that he is not in an environment that is too hot.
 

Precautions for use with the medicine Doliprane 300 mg suppository

You should not use Doliprane 300 mg suppositories in case of recent anal or rectal inflammation, in case of allergy to paracetamol or one of the constituents, and in case of serious liver disease.
This medicine contains paracetamol, you should not use it in combination with another medicine containing it.   
In case of overdose or mistakenly taking too high a dose, urgently notify a doctor.
If the pain persists after 5 days or the fever after 3 days, or in case of ineffectiveness of the treatment or occurrence of any other sign, consult your doctor.
