Product information
The active substance is paracetamol.
1 film-coated tablet contains 500 mg of paracetamol.
The excipients include: pregelatinized maize starch, povidone K-30, potassium sorbate, magnesium stearate and tablet coating (Opadry II 57U18539 White): hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), polydextrose, talc, maltodextrin, medium saturated fatty acid triglycerides chain length.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose for children aged 6-12 is ½ a tablet, not more often than 4 times a day. Children over 12 years of age and adults should be given 2 tablets, no more than 4 times a day.
Administer the drug orally, keeping at least 4 hours between successive doses.
Do not use for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor first.
Action
Hasco paracetamol has analgesic and antipyretic properties.
Indications
The drug is intended for use during headaches, throat, teeth, bones, joints and muscles, as well as migraines, painful menstruation, colds and flu-like conditions.
Contraindications
Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients or if you have liver failure, viral hepatitis (viral hepatitis), severe kidney failure or alcoholism.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Rarely (less than 1 in 1,000 patients) side effects reported include skin allergic reactions, hives, erythema and dermatitis.
Very rarely (less than 1 in 10,000 patients) the following have been observed: decreased number of platelets, decreased number of white blood cells, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Warnings and Precautions
Do not take the product for a long time as it increases the risk of liver damage.
If a patient has liver or kidney failure, decreased activity of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase or methaemoglobin reductase, asthma with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs, consult a doctor before use.
Store the drug at room temperature.
Keep the drug out of the sight and reach of children.
Use of other medications
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the drugs you are taking or have recently taken, and about any drugs you plan to take, including those sold without a prescription.
Paracetamol Hasco may interact with the following drugs:
- metoclopramide and domperidone (medicines against nausea and vomiting) increase the rate of absorption of paracetamol,
- cholestyramine (a drug that lowers cholesterol in the blood) slows down the absorption of paracetamol,
- long-term use of paracetamol in high doses enhances the effect of anticoagulants (coumarin derivatives),
- sleeping pills or antiepileptics (including glutethimide, barbiturates and e.g. phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine) increase the harmful effects of paracetamol on the liver,
- some antibiotics, e.g. rifampicin increases the harmful effects of paracetamol on the liver; chloramphenicol – paracetamol increases its toxicity,
- simultaneous use of antidepressants (from the group of the so-called MAO inhibitors) with paracetamol may cause a state of agitation and high temperature,
- simultaneous use of paracetamol with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid) increases the risk of renal dysfunction,
- paracetamol should not be used simultaneously with centrally acting analgesics, as it increases their effect,
- caffeine enhances the analgesic effect of paracetamol
Taking the drug with food and drink
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine as it increases the risk of liver damage.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
During pregnancy, taking the drug is allowed only if it is clinically justified. You should then take the lowest recommended dose for the shortest possible time.
Breastfeeding women may use Paracetamol Hasco only after consulting a doctor.
Use of the drug in children and adolescents
Paracetamol Hasco in the form of coated tablets, due to the form, is allowed for use in children from 6 years of age.
