WHAT IS ACYCLOVIR
Acyclovir is the drug of choice for the treatment and prevention of herpes simplex infections. For people with frequent or more severe forms of herpes, it may be wise to consider herpes prophylaxis to reduce the frequency of recurrences. This is especially important during the period of exposure to factors that cause recurrence of herpes in the patient (for example, increased exposure to sunlight, stress, fever, or before aesthetic medicine procedures).
