Dafalgan 1000 mg tablets is an over-the-counter medicine that contains 1000 mg of paracetamol. It is used to relieve pain and reduce fever. It is indicated for pain/fever such as aches, toothaches, headaches, flu-like conditions, painful periods. 

Dafalgan 1g is reserved for adults and children over 50 kilos (approximately 15 years old). Below 50 kg, you should choose the dosage of 500 mg of paracetamol with Dafalgan in capsule form .

Apart from the active substance represented by paracetamol, the other components of Dafalgan 1g tablets are: hydroxypropylcellulose, croscarmellose sodium, glycerol behenate, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica. The film coating has the following formula: hypromellose (E464), titanium dioxide (E171), propylene glycol (E1520).

Dosage of Dafalgan 1000 mg

The method of administration is oral. The tablets should be swallowed with a drink (e.g. water, fruit juice, milk). 

You should take one tablet every 4 hours without exceeding 3 per day.

In some cases, a doctor may prescribe 4 g of paracetamol per 24 hours. You should never take more than 4 g of paracetamol per day. 

In adults weighing less than 50 kg, people with severe liver damage, Gilbert’s syndrome, chronic alcoholism, chronic malnutrition or dehydration, the maximum daily dose should not exceed 60 mg/kg, without exceeding 3 g.

Patients with renal failure should leave an interval between paracetamol doses varying according to creatinine clearance. For cl ≥ 50 ml/min, the interval will be 4 hours. For cl 10-50 ml/min, it will be 6 hours. For cl < 10 ml/min, it will be 8 hours. The total dose should not exceed 3 g per day.
