Doliprane 200 mg suppository is a medicine containing paracetamol.
This medicine is indicated in children from 12 to 16 kg, or approximately from 2 years to 5 years, in case of fever, flu and to relieve pain, for example in case of headaches or dental pain.
Each suppository contains 200 mg of paracetamol. The excipients are composed of solid semi-synthetic glycerides.
 

Dosage of Doliprane 200 mg suppository

The dosage of  Doliprane 200 mg  suppository will depend on the child’s weight. You must know your child’s weight before administering it.
The dosage of paracetamol in children is approximately 60 mg per kg per day, to be divided into 4 doses, or approximately 15 mg per kg per dose, every 6 hours. Simply multiply your child’s weight by 15 to know the dose to administer.
The dosage of  Doliprane 200 mg  is, for a child weighing between 12 and 16 kg, one suppository to be renewed if necessary after 6 hours  without exceeding 4 suppositories per day. In case of renal insufficiency, the interval between 2 doses must be 8 hours. The direction of introduction of the suppository is the flat end first to avoid its rejection.

Doliprane exists in many dosages allowing the treatment to be adapted to the weight of each child. From 15 kilos, Doliprane 300 suppositories should be chosen.

Due to the risk of rectal irritation, the administration of Doliprane 200 mg suppository should be as short as possible, and will be replaced by oral treatment as soon as possible. This suppository form is not suitable in case of diarrhea.
If your child has a temperature above 38.5°, remember to uncover him and hydrate him well.
If the pain does not improve after 5 days or the fever after 3 days, or in case of worsening, you should consult a doctor.
 

Precautions with Doliprane baby suppository 200 mg

Never give Doliprane 200 mg suppository to your child in case of allergy to paracetamol or one of its constituents, in case of serious liver disease, and in case of recent anal or rectal inflammation.

Do not combine Doliprane 200 mg suppository with any other medicine containing paracetamol, in order to avoid any risk of overdose.
In case of overdose or mistakenly taking too high a dose, consult your doctor immediately.
